We’re excited to let you know that the school canteen is officially back in business! With a fresh new menu and some amazing new options, there’s something tasty for everyone to enjoy.
Recess sales are now available with cash, so don’t forget to send the kids with a few coins!
We’re thrilled to see our students lining up with big smiles—and even bigger appetites!
For all QKR! orders, its is very important that you have updated your child's class for 2025, otherwise the lunch order will end up in the wrong class.
Scholastic Book Club
Scholastic Book Club was handed out earlier this week so look out for your copy in your child's schoolbag or visit www.scholastic.com.au!
Remember that parents and friends have the opportunity to buy books for home reading or gifts. All orders benefit the school, as Scholastic gives the school 15% back from purchases, as reward points. These points are used to buy resources for the school.
Note: only online orders will be accepted. These need to be completed via credit card through LOOP (visit www.scholastic.com.au/loop ) or you can download the LOOP app. Your order will be electronically linked to the rest of the school's orders. Books will be given to your children to take home, when they arrive. If you have any questions, please email the school librarian Alison Bond (alison.bond@cg.catholic.edu.au).
LOOP orders for Issue 3 close on Sunday 18th May.
Kate and Jol Temple
Next Monday 12th May, Preschool to Year 3 students will be visited by award-winning authors Kate and Jol Temple. They have written over 26 funny books for kids! They are providing you with an opportunity to purchase one of their books through Book Cow, which will be delivered to the school. Students will be able to take the book home on the day they are visiting. We are looking forward to welcoming Kate and Jol as they rhyme their way through some of their most loved picture books.
Please see flyer if you are interested. Orders close this Sunday 11th May.
St Francis Reading Challenge
Something exciting has begun……
I’m sure you have heard whispers…..
Who: Kindergarten – Year 6 students.
What: The St Francis Reading Challenge!
. Students are encouraged to read or have read to them 40 books.
While this sounds like a lot, it is actually only 2 books a week!
When: The rest of Autumn, ALL of Winter, the start of Spring
(Terms 2 and 3).
Where: Reading can take place ANYWHERE!
Why: To encourage a love of reading for fun and learning.
Lots of children have already brought in their Reading Challenge sheets with 10 or 20 books read! They have added special stickers onto their library card which is kept in a special file in the library. What a great start to this challenge! There are spare sheets in the library if your child needs a new one. Students in Grades 4-6 also have this form in their OneNote Class Notebook.
Donations needed! Autumn seems to have come for the uniform shop's racks as it does the trees. If you have any unused/outgrown uniforms at home, especially winter uniforms, please bring them in. Leave at the front office, or out the front of the uniform shop (near the hall). Many thanks!

All St Francis Primary School families who intend to send younger siblings to the ELC in 2026 are urged to get their applications in now, any applications received after the enrolment period closes will not have priority enrolment for being a sibling.
All 2025 ELC families will need to submit a kindergarten application for the primary school they are zoned to.
Catholic Education's official enrolment period closes on the 30 May. If you are unsure about which school your suburb is zoned to, please refer to the Catholic Education website or ask us at the ELC office. If you know of potential 2026 ELC families, please let them know that we do expect a waitlist in 2026 and encourage families to submit applications as soon as possible as we will work with Holy Family and St Anthony's to place as many children as possible.
Our parish of Corpus Christi will be holding a trivia night as a parish fundraiser on Friday 20 June 2025.The evening will be at St Francis of Assisi School Hall commencing at 7pm.
We are asking for donations for prizes for the night, so if you have any families in your school who run a business and would like to donate goods or a service that would be wonderful.
